Science projects have been assigned and the project proposals are due Friday Jan 23. A copy of the timeline of due dates is posted on the Science Project page (listed to the right). The page of Due Dates will be given to students this week. Students are encouraged to explore any science field as long as the project entails an experiment conducted in a controlled environment. Limiting variables is desirable for more accurate results. Final projects will be due March 13.
Check out the pictures to the right. There are pictures from the Mad Matter Tea Parties included!
My aquarium in the classroom seems to have a slow leak. My four fish and I would appreciate it if an old 20 gallon tank that is not being presently used could be donated for our use.

All parents are welcome to join. If you were not at Open House night or did not get a chance to sign the email list that night, please use the sign in located along the right hand side of this page.
In class, we are about to finish the Experimental methods unit with a written test and a lab test this Tuesday. We will be reviewing in class on Monday with a study guide and a practice lab test. Our next unit is Atoms and the Periodic Table and we will be checking out textbooks sometime this week.

This weekend students have been given their very own fortune fish with which to experiment. The purpose is to find out what makes the fortune fish move. Students will summarize the results of two of their experiments on the poster with the blank boxes. Remember to write the hypothesis in the If, then format and sketch a diagram of each of the experiments (the Diagram box can be split in half). Presentation is part of the grade so write neatly and don’t forget the Pizzazz! Please email me if you have any questions
